As part of World No Tobacco Day on May 31, the International Federation of Green Crescent (IFGC), in collaboration with the Turkish Green Crescent Counseling Center (YEDAM), hosted an awareness-raising webinar titled “Tobacco Addiction and Recovery: YEDAM’s Treatment and Support Approach” on June 13, 2025. The event was held online and targeted Country Green Crescents operating around the world.
The webinar addressed the psychological, physiological, and social dimensions of tobacco addiction, while presenting Green Crescent Counseling Center’s (YEDAM) effective treatment model and long-term recovery approach. YEDAM Clinical Psychologist İrem Nur İpçioğlu shared evidence-based intervention tools, strategies to boost motivation, and techniques to prevent relapse, supported by real-life case examples.
During the concluding Q&A session, participants' questions were answered, and representatives were encouraged to share insights about tobacco addiction rates and available intervention services in their respective countries.
As the second webinar of 2025, this event aimed to raise awareness around tobacco addiction and contributed to the dissemination of YEDAM’s intervention methods among members of the International Federation of Green Crescent.
